Open a bank account

Czech business
bank account

What you need to know before you start.

A Czech business bank account lets your company receive payments, pay suppliers and salaries and handle taxes. For a new company with foreign owners, banks look closely at the business, so a well-prepared application matters.

Physical presence is required. The bank needs to meet the company's representative in person. The exception is Revolut and Wise, which may open an account remotely if they agree.

We cannot guarantee that a bank will open the account, because the decision is always the bank's. We do everything we can to help you get it, and you pay only if it is opened.

Our
banks

We work with the main Czech banks. Accounts at up to 2 of them are included.

RaiffeisenbankKomerční banka (KB)Česká spořitelnaČSOB

Each bank can ask for different documents. In most cases the key point is showing activity in the Czech Republic. A bank may refuse when the economic link with the Czech Republic cannot be demonstrated, which is why we prepare this with you before the visit.

How it
works

From the first review to an open account.

01We review your businessBanks mostly want to see your economic link with the Czech Republic, so we look at your activity, owners and expected transactions first.
02We prepare the fileThe application and supporting documents for up to 2 banks, ready in advance. The digital identity of the company supports the file.
03Day 1: notaryYou sign at the notary and the company is registered within 60 minutes. The bank appointment is the next day, because the company's data must first appear in the national register.
04Day 2: bankWe go to the bank with the prepared file. In about 90% of cases the account is opened the same day. If time remains, we go to the post office for the data box.
05You pay on successThe €900 fee, which includes accounts at up to 2 banks, is due only once the account is opened.

Banks typically want to understand what the company does, who owns it, where the money comes from and what transactions to expect, so we prepare these points with you before the meeting.

Questions?

About opening a Czech business bank account.

Do I need to be in Prague to open a Czech business bank account?

Yes. Opening a Czech business account requires your physical presence. The exception is Revolut and Wise, which may open an account remotely if they agree.

How long does it take to open the account?

In about 90% of cases the account is opened on the same day as the bank appointment. The appointment is on the day after the notary, because the company's data must first appear in the national register. The whole visit takes 2 working days.

Which banks do you work with?

Raiffeisenbank, Komerční banka (KB), Česká spořitelna and ČSOB. Opening accounts at up to 2 of them is included in the €900.

Why can a bank refuse?

The usual reason is that the company cannot demonstrate an economic link with the Czech Republic. Banks may ask for different documents, but they mostly want to see activity in the Czech Republic, so we prepare this with you in advance.

What does a typical visit look like?

Day 1: notary, and the company is registered within 60 minutes after signing. Day 2: bank appointments with a file prepared in advance, and then the data box at the post office if time remains. We recommend arriving on Monday so everything is finished by Friday and you do not stay over the weekend.

Do you guarantee that the account will be opened?

No. The decision is always the bank's, so we cannot guarantee it. We do everything we can to help, and you pay the €900 fee only if the account is opened.

How much does it cost?

€900, a success fee that is due only if your business account is opened. Accounts at up to 2 banks are included, and so is local assistance during your visit, such as airport pick-up and accommodation.

What local assistance do I get during my visit?

Airport pick-up, accommodation and the rest of the practical details, so you have no hassle. You only show up.

Can you help me with Revolut or Wise?

Yes. We can help you apply. These providers may open an account remotely if they agree, so you may not need to travel.

What is the digital identity package?

A website, a Google Business profile, a local phone number and a company presentation, prepared together so the company looks established to banks and partners. We can set up the whole procedure for you.

Do I need the company to be registered first?

Yes. The bank opens the account for an existing company, so the registration comes first. See how to register a company in the Czech Republic.
